Atelier Eurkos

I decided to play around with softer shading for this one. I’d been wanting to get away from the more cel-shaded look for a while, and the thinner lines on this one helped with that. I’m pretty happy with it, considering this is my first real attempt at this style.

so now Asellus has shading. next is to finish the details, make last-minute adjustments, and add a background.

May also post a sketch later, but as always I make no promises to that.

rather than all of page 2, I decided to just scan this part. I’m pretty pleased with this, especially since it didn’t take many tries to get (mostly) right. Her foot’s too small.

Continuing on the coloring, now Kohaku has shading. I might try to draw page 2 to go after that other page I put up yesterday, but no promises. We’ll see what happens.

Yeah… so it’s been what? Two weeks? I have no excuse, really. I’ve been feeling like garbage, but I’m not gonna get into details because this isn’t that kind of blag. To not really make up for it, you get two things today. I’m gonna make different posts for each, because it’s better for my sanity that way.

This first one is - in theory - a first-draft sketch of the first page of the project I’m working on, which I’m currently referring to “Nephilim Project” because I don’t have a title yet. The idea is that the first panel is a person running, the second panel is a person walking in the opposite direction, and the third panel is three more people running after the first person. Then the full drawing is the back of the walking person, who is supposed to be a young (elementary school age) kid. That’s why the big head and short legs.

Sorry about skipping the update yesterday. I wasn’t feeling terribly well, due to my nasty allergies and yesterday’s incredibly high pollen counts. Today was kinda bad as well, but I took some sinus medicine today.

Anyway, I started this last night and just finished it up now. Just the base colors, so it’s still not done yet. But it’s getting there.

So this is ink done on the previous drawing. I’m pretty pleased with how it came out.

Sorry about not updating yesterday. I wasn’t sitting at a computer long enough to get any meaningful work done, since I spent most of the day on my feet.

so today, instead of a new sketch, I present to you the same drawing from yesterday, now with more Asellus. I also changed Kohaku’s swimsuit and went over the lines a little overall. The plan is that, over the next couple days, I’m gonna clean this drawing up more and finish it. Possibly even color it, but we’ll see what happens. I like how it’s coming along, and I’d like to see how it turns out.

Asellus has kind of a big head, but that’s something I’m just gonna have to fix by cheating with photoshop.

Kohaku doesn’t usually wear things like this, so Calophi is lending her some courage.

Vykk is rather confident, despite his somewhat plain appearance.

I still need practice drawing male characters, but I think this is progress. I need practice with expressions, too. So there we go.
