Made some changes again. Wound up redrawing both of her arms and the sword in an attempt to get the foreshortening better. Foreshortening and I aren’t on good terms. He’s an asshole, you understand.
Anyway, I’m still pretty happy with how it’s looking. Thoughts?

So here we have Miss Fire, a character created by Jeremy Rodden from his novel Toonopolis: Gemini. Look up the book on Amazon. It’s a rather fun read.

Anyway, I’m working on design ideas for the project of turning that novel into a webcomic. This is my attempt at drawing a character who looks like they’re from a western-style super hero cartoon. My favorite one of those was always Batman: The Animated Series, so I took inspiration from that.

Let me know what you think!

So before when I said my tablet was broken? That was a stinking lie, and I apologize. As it happens, I just needed to reinstall the drivers for it. Maybe they got messed up when I installed the software for my new mouse? The world may never know.
And so, here’s this thing for you to look at. I think I’m getting more used to how Illustrator handles things, and more used to using the previously mentioned tablet. There are a couple errors in this version (mostly lines that don’t know when to quit and are encroaching on other lines’ space) that I’ve fixed since I saved this. It’s not done yet, and I already have a bunch of color layers that I don’t feel like hiding just to show you the changes.

This is fanart of a character known as Miss Fire. She’s from a novel written by Jeremy Rodden known as Toonopolis: Gemini. I’m not finished reading yet, but I will be soon.

Anyway, super hero clothes are still new to me, so she gets simple tights. I’m happy with how it came out, even though the pose is refereced. I’m working on coloring it now.

Toph fanart

Still taking from that old sketchbook I found, I give you this fanart of Toph from Avatar: The Last Airbender. She’s supposed to be older in this drawing than she was during the events of the show. This was originally supposed to be a birthday gift for Calophi, who you might recognize as the one who’s been “liking” pretty much every post I’ve made so far. She’s basically my biggest supporter, even though I never finish her birthday art. Well, I figure I should finish this one.

The original pencil drawing, for the curious:

Over the weekend I did a big cleaning session, complete with moving furniture and all. I came across an old sketchbook from a few years ago, and I noticed that for like the first half of that book I had the juice. There’s a decent amount of drawings in there that I really like, and this is one of them. So, I’m gonna color it. For those of you who are curious, I’m including the original pencil drawing in this post along with the ink up there.

So this is ink done on the previous drawing. I’m pretty pleased with how it came out.
Sorry about not updating yesterday. I wasn’t sitting at a computer long enough to get any meaningful work done, since I spent most of the day on my feet.
