So I’m still working on this, but I figured I’d post something up to show that I am actually working on things. This is my character from The Old Republic.
It’s been a while. I could say that no one was really looking at these things anyway, but the only person to blame for that is me. Regular viewers only come with regular updates. I’d like to say that I’m gonna do better, but I’d be lying to myself if I promised such a thing. So I’ll say that I’m gonna try to do better.
Anyway, this was supposed to be a birthday present, but it’s hella late. I’m pretty happy with it so far. I’m gonna look into inking it by hand, since my tablet recently broke.
rather than all of page 2, I decided to just scan this part. I’m pretty pleased with this, especially since it didn’t take many tries to get (mostly) right. Her foot’s too small.
Continuing on the coloring, now Kohaku has shading. I might try to draw page 2 to go after that other page I put up yesterday, but no promises. We’ll see what happens.
This is the second thing I mentioned. It’s not a whole new drawing, but this is what I was slowly working on (and failing at quite a lot) over the past two weeks. Shading still gives me trouble. I have to make some changes, but overall I’m pretty happy with how it’s going.
so today, instead of a new sketch, I present to you the same drawing from yesterday, now with more Asellus. I also changed Kohaku’s swimsuit and went over the lines a little overall. The plan is that, over the next couple days, I’m gonna clean this drawing up more and finish it. Possibly even color it, but we’ll see what happens. I like how it’s coming along, and I’d like to see how it turns out.
Asellus has kind of a big head, but that’s something I’m just gonna have to fix by cheating with photoshop.
Vykk is rather confident, despite his somewhat plain appearance.
I still need practice drawing male characters, but I think this is progress. I need practice with expressions, too. So there we go.
Vykk knows it’s not a good idea to sleep on a train, especially when he’s on his way to a new place. But sometimes you just get too tired to worry about it.
Sorry about it being so sloppy. This is one of the very few times I’ve tried to draw background stuff. Mostly because I’m pretty convinced that I’m terrible at it. But that’s the point of practice, right? To get better? I need a LOT of background practice.
…It’s supposed to be a train.
